Another Unforgettable Weekend!

The countdown has begun!

Fly’n For Fun is an biennial recreational aviation fly-in event hosted by RAAus at Parkes Airport, NSW. After the incredible success of Fly’n For Fun 2024, we’re excited to announce the return of our flagship event—Fly’n For Fun 2026, set to take place from 27–29 March 2026 at Parkes Airport. With a refreshed schedule and expanded offerings, this edition promises to be our biggest and most dynamic yet.

Designed as a true celebration of all forms of recreational aviation, the event will showcase everything from light sport and ultralight aircraft to powered parachutes, gliders and gyrocopters—bringing together aviators from across the country to share their passion for flight.

The weekend will follow an advised schedule, with Friday and Sunday focused on pilot arrivals and departures, allowing for smooth airspace coordination and relaxed travel. Saturday will be the feature day, filled with impressive static aircraft displays, flight activity, engaging seminars, interactive exhibits, community activities, and festive evening entertainment to keep the atmosphere buzzing into the night.

We’re also proud to once again welcome the AMDA Foundation as our Principal Sponsor. As the powerhouse behind the Australian International Airshow at Avalon, AMDA brings industry insight, reach, and credibility, helping us share the magic of flight with an even wider audience.

Fly’n For Fun 2026 is not just an event—it’s an experience. It’s where connections are made, stories are shared, and the spirit of aviation comes to life.

Following a major leap in 2024—which saw over 800 attendees, 20 exhibitors, and a significant expansion in scope—we’re building on that momentum to deliver an even more inclusive and inspiring event. Whether you’re a seasoned pilot or simply aviation-curious, Fly’n For Fun is all about celebrating the thrill of flying and the joy of community.

FAQs

Why Parkes?

Parkes was selected as the home of Fly’n For Fun for several important reasons — most notably the incredible support we receive from the local Parkes community and the HARS Aviation Museum. HARS generously provides access to their land and resources to host the event, which significantly reduces operational costs and allows us to reinvest those funds into enhancing the overall experience for attendees.

Parkes also offers a wide range of accommodation, dining and travel options to suit all budgets. With Parkes Airport located just minutes from the town centre, our complimentary shuttle bus operates on a continuous loop, making it easy for attendees to travel between the airport and town throughout the event.

Will there be more food vendors this year?

In 2024, we had a strong lineup of food vendors planned; however, due to circumstances beyond our control, several pulled out at the last minute. We’re incredibly grateful to Cooke Park Café and the Parkes Rotary Club, who stepped up to make sure attendees were well fed throughout the day.

We recognise that this led to some delays during peak meal times. For 2026, we’ve put measures in place to ensure a larger selection of passionate local food vendors, offering a wide variety of food options to keep everyone satisfied throughout the event.

Are there accessibility options?

Absolutely! We’re committed to making Fly’n For Fun enjoyable for everyone. The event site includes an accessible toilet, and we’re subsidising accessible transport to ensure all attendees can travel to and from the site safely and comfortably.

For more details, please visit our Visitor Information page.

Is there car parking available?

Yes! Fly’n For Fun offers free car parking, making it easy for attendees to park conveniently close to the event. To help you plan your visit, a full site map showing parking areas, event zones, and key facilities will be available soon on our Visitor Information page.

Do I have to pay for a ticket?

Attendance at Fly’n For Fun is completely free!

However, to help us manage numbers and ensure a smooth experience for everyone, we’re operating a free ticketing system. Secure yours today by visiting our Attendance page.

Is there onsite camping?

Yes! Fly’n For Fun 2026 offers a range of camping options for attendees. Underwing camping allows pilots to park their aircraft and set up camp beneath their wings, creating a unique, communal atmosphere where aviators can share stories and enjoy the event together.

For everyone else, general camping and caravan spaces are also available, so all attendees can enjoy a convenient onsite experience.

However, spaces are limited. So booking in advance is essential. Click here to book your camping space.

Will landing fees be waived?

Thanks to the continued support of Parkes Shire Council, landing fees at Parkes Regional Airport will be once again be waived for all aircraft under 2 tonnes from 27–29 March 2026.
